Menu Bar Notes — Support

Menu Bar Notes is a quick-capture notes app for Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro. Notes are organized into blocks, sync through your own iCloud account, and stay one keystroke away.

Getting started on Mac

Menu Bar Notes lives in the menu bar — it has no Dock icon and no separate window.

• Click the note icon in the menu bar (top right of the screen) to open your notes.
• Or press ⌥ ⌘ N from any app.
• Settings, Trash, and Quit are inside that panel — open it and use the tabs along the top.
• Press esc to close the panel. Your work is saved automatically.

Getting started on iPhone, iPad, and Vision Pro

Open the app and tap a note to start writing. Tap + to add a note. Type #, -, or [] at the start of a line to turn it into a heading, a bullet, or a to-do.

iCloud sync

Notes sync automatically across your devices through your personal iCloud account. If notes aren't appearing on another device:

• Check that both devices are signed into the same Apple Account and that iCloud Drive is turned on.
• Open the app on the other device and leave it in the foreground for a few seconds — sync runs while the app is active.
• On Mac, the Settings tab shows the current iCloud sync status.

Deleted something by accident?

Deleted notes and blocks go to Trash, where they can be restored for 30 days before they're removed permanently.
